After being unveiled a few months ago, Coolpad has officially announced the Defiant, the next budget phone in T-Mobile’s and then MetroPCS that will be launched on June 16th. The new phone will be set at the entry-level class with the basic specs for the daily use.
Taking an overall look at the specs of Coolpad Defiant, the phone features a 5-inch IPS display with the 854 x 480 resolution. The back, home, and multitask buttons is placed outside the screen. Above the screen is a 2 MP selfie camera and other accelerometer, gyro, proximity sensors. At the back of the device is an 5 MP camera with LED flash for capturing the daily life. The rear panel is equipped with a matte surface can be removed
Under the hood, the Defiant is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core SoC clocked at 1,4GHz, along with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of inbuilt storage, but you can expand the storage with the help of the micro SD card slot. A plus point of Defiant is that the phone will be shipped with Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box. Keeping the lights on will be a 2,450 mAh battery capacity.
Interestingly, Although Coolpad Defiant is a budget phone, the device still supports band 12 LTE and Rich Communications Services (RCS) messaging.
However, the retail price of the smartphone has not yet to reveal. It seems that the Defiant will not break the bank. The phone will launch through T-Mobile starting from June 16, and then MetroPCS will release it in this summer. How do you think about this new budget smartphone of Coolpad?
