Microsoft has just released the newest iteration of Windows 10 Insider Previews. This Preview Build 16251 is being rolled out to Windows 10 Insiders in the Fast ring, and will be available for Insiders who selected ‘Skip Ahead‘. The most highlight feature in this Preview Build 16251 is the ability to link your Android phone to your Windows PC. Previously, Microsoft introduced the first set of features enabling the linking functionality. This build also focuses on cross-device web-browsing, and it will bring Windows Insiders to help test the experience on Android before the functionality is officially integrated on the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.
From now, if you want to start linking your Android phone, you need to install the latest Preview Build on your PC and then link your phone by going to Settings > Phone on your Windows 10 computer. After that, Microsoft will send you an SMS including a link for an app called “Microsoft Apps”, which is required to complete the link between your Android phone and PC. Linking the devices makes sure that your sessions are only continued on PCs which you have linked to, so that not all computers that you linked your Microsoft Account is present.
The app on your Android device will add a share context, named “Continue on PC” in the share menu. After the linking process is complete, you can start browsing the web on your Android phone and even share websites with this option. However, for the first time, you’ll be prompted to log in your Microsoft Account, and this account must be the same with the account used on the PC. Once you have share the websites from your Android device, it would also appear on your linked PC. You can also choose the “Continue Later” option, which can help the notification under the Microsoft Action Center panel access later on.
