Google officially announced the Android 8.0 Oreo a few days ago. According to the company, the Pixel and Nexus smartphones will be among the first of the bunch, and the updates have started being rolled out for them. However, what about the devices which are stuck with carrier versions?
Good news for all Verizon Pixel and Pixel XL users as Verizon has just announced that the Android 8.0 Oreo upgrade is ready to release to its Pixel and Pixel XL units via OTA. Both update will be rolling out starting today and the new build number will come with the label name: OPR6.170623.012.
There are many things to talk about any Android version, but this version is expected to be a very stable and well-made software. It’s not only clean, very functional, but also comes with plenty of features insides it. They include the picture-in-picture support, an improvement for the notification system, an Instant Apps section, better Autofill support, adaptive icons, multi display support and more.
The most notable feature is the always-on display feature that appeared in a few weeks ago. According to the release notes, the always-on display feature will automatically transit to the ambient display mode when you have notifications

Simply go to Settings > About phone > System updates and tap on Check for update. But you should not worry if you don’t see any update. They tend to roll out periodically, so don’t worry as it will be coming relatively soon.
